RNC Resumes Normal Schedule

By KHON News

After shifting their focus from John McCain to Gustav, republicans are resuming a normal schedule and setting the stage for their nominee.

"It is my pleasure to call the 2nd session into order,” said Representative John Boehner.

The Republican National Convention now looks and sounds like a typical convention.

The current commander in chief addressed an energetic republican convention via satellite from the White House.

In the audience was his father George H.W. Bush along with wife Barbara who received their own raucous reception.

Former senator and one time presidential hopeful Fred Thompson who was a last minute addition to the schedule spoke about McCain the maverick.

Independent Democrat Joe Lieberman is making his first GOP convention appearance.

The senator is a long time friend and avid supporter of John McCain.

Vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin is expected to address delegates here tomorrow though she did not attend scheduled events today.

John McCain will be here Thursday to accept the party's nomination.
