Obama Will Speak at Keehi Lagoon Beach Park Friday

By Tannya Joaquin

Hawaii born presidential candidate Barack Obama is heading home tomorrow, and will hold a public event tomorrow afternoon. Plans are underway for an Obama visit to Keehi Lagoon Beach Park.

Until now, the only official event on Obama's Hawaii vacation was a fundraising dinner at the Kahala Tuesday night but, just hours ago, this free public event was added to his schedule.

Here's what we know:
Barack and Michelle Obama will appear at at Keehi Lagoon Beach Park tomorrow afternoon.
Gates will open to the general public at 12:30.
An e-mail has been sent to Obama's Hawaii supporters asking for an r.s.v.p, but, that's not required to attend.
For security reasons, do not bring bags and limit personal items.
No signs or banners are permitted.

Here's what Obama had to say earlier today about his trip back to Hawaii.

"Im going to see my grandma who i've haven't seen in almost 18-19 months and who's getting to the age where i want to make sure i spend time with her on a consistent basis and so she can see her great-grandchildren."

Secret Service and Honolulu Police will be using traffic control measures when Obama travels so you should anticipate some delays.

This will be Obama's first vacation in Hawaii since 2006... when he was mulling over whether or not to run for president.

We'll have live coverage of Obama's visit and you can r.s.v.p to the event by clicking on the following link.
