KHON NewsFirst Video: Man, 26, Killed In H-1 Crash
A 26 year-old man died after crashing his car on the H-1 freeway this morning.
Police say around 1 a.m. Stephen Yeh was heading west near the Alexander Street on-ramp, when he lost control of his car. Yeh's white camry then crashed into a concrete barrier, veered across several lanes, flipped over, slid on its roof and crashed into another car. The spoiler on Yeh's car detached hitting a 23 year old female passenger in the other car. Yeh was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital in serious condition and the female passenger suffered head injuries and was taken to Straub hospital in good condition. Police say speed was a factor in the crash. The freeway's west bound lanes were closed most of the morning and reopened by 5:30 a.m. This is the 30th fatality on Oahu this year compared with 41 fatalities at the same time last year. |
