The State and HMSA have teamed up to provide health insurance to children left uninsured by a string of recent mass layoffs, including Aloha Airlines and Molokai Ranch.

Starting friday, HMSA will begin enrolling children in its existing Keiki Care Plan.

It provides basic health coverage for children between the ages of 31 days to 18 years old.

The coverage will last through the end of the year.
