McCully Shopping Center says paper towels and a spoon are to blame for this weekend's raw sewage spill.
The center issued a statement Tuesday, saying the items were lodged in a drain pipe and that the problem is being fully investigated.
They said, "The safety of the public and our community has been and will always be the top priority of the McCully Shopping Center."
Raw sewage flowed out of the shopping center and onto the street for hours on Saturday.
The center said a large licensed commercial plumbing company was brought to fix the problem, but their equipment was damaged while they tried to clear the line.
