Fluid levels

Your automobile requires a variety of fluids to keep it running smoothly and it's important to keep all of your car's fluids at the proper level. Engine oil, automatic transmission fluid, power steering fluid, antifreeze, and even gasoline levels should be monitored frequently, to prevent damage. For example, friction between the internal parts of the engine due to lack of oil can cause serious damage--enough to completely ruin your car's engine. Not enough automatic transmission fluid can cause your car to slip out of gear, or slip into the wrong gear, at the wrong time. Low levels of power steering fluid can make your car's steering wheel stiff and hard to turn. Not keeping enough antifreeze in your car's radiator can cause the engine to overheat. If overheated for too long, the engine will die, but not before needless damage has been done. And, waiting until you're down to your last drop of gas before refilling means that your car must use the gas at the very bottom of the tank. This gasoline is frequently dirty and full of sediments that have collected over time, having been missed by your car's fuel filter. This can clog your engine's carburetor and make your car run poorly. Even so, too much of any of these fluids is also not recommended. Overfilling means your car's fluid reservoirs can't breathe, mix, or lubricate properly, which can also cause damage to your engine. Be sure to keep all the fluids at the proper recommended fill lines to ensure your vehicle runs at peak performance.
