Action Line Consumer Alert: Recalled Items for Sept 29-Oct 3

By Vanessa Stewart

Hammock stands to toasters are on this week's list of recalled items.

Officials say they've received about 50 reports of the stands breaking over time---12 of which reported injury.

Next, toy boats by buzz's boatyard were recalled because paint on the toys contain high levels of lead.

Two models are included in the recall.

Tests in Taiwan have found traces of chemical melamine in powder packets of nestle milk.

The nestle products were produced in China.

So far no reports of any of the products sold in the U.S. have been recalled.

And finally, Wal-mart has recalled their general electric toasters.

The heating element inside the toaster can short circuit posing a fire hazard.

More than 100 incidents of fires or sparks coming from the toasters have been reported.

If you have consumer concerns call Action Line at 591-0222 Monday thru Friday from 11 am to 1 pm.
