By Vanessa Stewart

When it comes to buying products -- it is difficult to know what may pose a risk of injury. Several federal agencies exist to inform consumers about such products.

If you work near or use a ventilator in your home you may be at risk. Maker Venmar CES has recalled more than 3,000 heat recovery ventilators. The motors can overheat posing a fire hazard to consumers. Another recall, are these lithium batteries used for radio-controlled helicopters.

After receiving 27 reports of them overheating and causing minor property damage, Hobbico Inc recalled the rechargeable batteries. So far, No injuries have been reported.

Next, A recall of Electra bikes has been expanded. The company says the bike's chainguard can be pushed against the chain causing it to derail-posing injuries to riders. The bikes were sold between January 2007 through last June nationwide.

And just yesterday, Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza were recalled. Nestle Prepared Foods says the sandwich products may contain foreign materials.
