PRESS RELEASE: The City and County of Honolulu reminds motorists there will be temporary rolling closures and potential delays on major roads Sunday afternoon and evening, as well on Monday morning, when certain dignitaries travel through Oahu.
Security requirements have been in effect for these individuals participating in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Meeting, which began Saturday at the Hale Koa Hotel and concludes Sunday at the Ihilani Resort.
Rolling closures of major roads, including the H-1 freeway, will occur when the Leaders Meeting ends this afternoon and certain dignitaries are expected to return to Waikiki. Motorists are advised to leave early and plan for significant delays.
The City also advises commuters to plan ahead for Monday morning and leave as early as possible as rolling road closures are anticipated sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. when certain dignitaries travel from Waikiki to the airport area.
