HONOLULU (AP) - A race is being held next weekend to raise money for one of Honolulu's biggest homeless shelters.

The third annual Homeward Bound 5K run will raise money for the Institute for Human Services.

The 3.1-mile race is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. The course begins and ends at Manoa Valley District Park.

The race has raised more than $30,000 since its founding. Last year, it raised $18,000.

The fee to register is $15 until Thursday. On race day, registration will cost $30.

The Institute for Human Services provides meals, shelter, showers, health screenings, mental health support, and other services.
