HONOLULU (AP) - State transportation workers will be closing several lanes of a busy Honolulu freeway in order to take down a giant sticker covering a corner of an exit sign.
Transportation spokesman Dan Meisenzahl says workers in cherry pickers on Monday will be removing the QR sticker, which is about 16 square feet.
When scanned by a cellphone, the code sends the Web browser to a local clothing company.
A representative of the company UDOWN says they didn't know about the sticker until someone told them about it last week.
Meisenzahl says those responsible for putting up the sticker are putting themselves, motorists and workers at risk.
Two lanes of the H-1 freeway will close to remove the sticker from the westbound Vineyard Boulevard exit sign.
