The diagnosis on U.H. Warrior football quarterback Greg Alexander is much worse than first thought. After an MRI Thursday night, Alexander will undergo season-ending surgery Saturday.
According to sources at U.H., Alexander has a torn ACL among other damage in the knee.
The California native is a senior and is not eligible for a medical hardship year because he's played in more than 25-percent of the season.
Alexander suffered the injury on a third quarter hit in Wednesday’s 27-6 road loss to Louisiana Tech.
Bryant Moniz...a third-year sophomore out of Leilehua...replaced Alexander...going 5-for-11 for 109-yards passing.
Moniz, Shane Austin, and Brent Rausch, who's still nursing a broken pinkie....are the likely candidates to take over at quarterback.
