Former University of Hawaii wide receiver Chad Owens resigns with the Candian Football League's Toronto Argonauts. The new deal will pay Owens more than $150,000 per year over the next three years. It's the highest salary in the league's history for someone who is primarily a kick-returner.

Owens was engaged in talks with the New York Jets as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Bucs and the Miami Dolphins. But, with a labor strike looming in the NFL, he decided to stay in Toronto where he has emerged as a fan favorite.

BJ Penn is training in Honolulu for his upcoming fight, and fellow UFC veteran and Hall of Famer Matt Hughes is training with him.

Back in November, Penn punched his way to a knock-out victory in the third meeting between the two fighters.

Though the rivalry has seemed vitriolic at times, both men say there has always been mutual respect.
