An elevator motor malfunction at around 2:25 Saturday morning almost forced the evacuation of about 100 patients at the
Maunalani Hospital above Wilhelmina Rise. The first arriving company found heavy smoke conditions on the second and third floors of this facility located at
5113 Maunalani Circle. No flames were visible.
