A week after a heartbreaking loss in the Little League World Series, the U.S. champions of Waipio were honored in Waikiki.
Dozens gathered on beach walk for a meet-and-greet and autograph signing with the little league all-stars.
Donations were also collected to offset the travel costs for the team.
The players say they are humbled by the show of support.
"It feels good all the supporters coming back and everyone that we know that their helping us out and cheering for us," said pitcher Kaimana Bartholome.
"We were kind of nervous but after awhile we got used to it and we just started playing our best and just going out there and playing hard," said second-baseman Kahoea Akau.
The honors will continue for the All-Stars on Sunday, with a city-sponsored parade through Waipio.
The parade starts at 10 in the morning and will also honor seven other national and world championship teams from the islands.
