The Honolulu Star Advertiser is saying good-bye to three longtime employees.

About one hundred people held a farewell party at Murphy's Bar and Grill for the staff members Wednesday night.

Science and health reporter Helen Altonn, copy editor and longtime entertainment writer Ben Wood, and religion reporter Mary Adamski will retire this Friday.

"I think I was a journalist at the right time for 55 years when it was (...) a lot of fun and we did good work and people respected journalist by and large," said Altonn.

Together the three employees have nearly 150 years of experience in the newspaper business.
