A new season of "So You Think You Can Dance" kicks off tonight with a two-hour premiere starting at 7 p.m.
Hawaii's own Mark Kanemura returns to the show as an all-star.
Some of the best dancers in the country will compete in the highly anticipated seventh season of Fox's hit show "So You Think You Can Dance."
This season starts off with a few twists and turns.
There are only 10 finalists instead of 20 competing for the title, breaking it down to five guys and five girls.
"They're bringing twelve of us oldies ha ha" said Kanemura
The oldies as Mark Kanemura says are 12 former contestants who are coming back to the show as "All Stars" who will mentor and partner with the competitors.
"I am very honored and I am very grateful but there's a lot of pressure too definitely a lot of pressure, I am nervous but it should be good I mean the one reason I wanted to do it for myself was for the challenge," said Kanemura.
Mark's family says he has always been up to new challenges.
"Like he would say oh I want to dance for Michael Jackson I want to dance for Janet Jackson," said Theresa.
Since season four of "So You Think You Can Dance" the Kaneohe native has toured the globe as a backup dancer for Lady Gaga and performed with his muse Janet Jackson.
"Without him even realizing it he became a role model for so many people who maybe are afraid to pursue their passion," said Theresa.
Now you can catch Mark and the rest of the cast and crew every Thursday starting tonight at 7 p.m. right here on KHON2.
