Governor Lingle is crying foul on the latest attack ad against gubernatorial candidate Duke Aiona.

The spot did not come from the campaign for Neil Abercrombie, Aiona's opponent.

The ad was paid for by the Hawaii Democratic Party.

"This is clearly an attempt to prop up their candidate for governor and that if Neil Abercrombie had any character he would condemn this ad and if Senator Inouye would walk his talk of sticking to the issues he also would call on his party to take this ad off the air because it is such a blatant distortion and misstatement of the facts as everyone knows them to be," said Lingle.

Democratic Party of Hawaii Chairman Dante Carpenter responded saying:

"We believe our ads are 'right on' and essentially speak for themselves. These events occurred during the Lingle-Aiona administration and are part of their record. In light of a slew of negative Republican party ads during this campaign, I believe the governor's remarks are somewhat hypocritical"

Of course the growing debt is bad. Obama must surely be aware of that. He has been in office only two years. It will have to be dealt with and soon. Where were all the tea party people when bush was doubling the debt?? Where?? Everyone has to look at the facts and not be told what to think by fox news, glen beck, rush limbaugh and even msnbc. Think for yourself and tell the politicians to stop outsourcing the middle class jobs.

TrueHI - 10/30/2010 11:26 AM
I am in the "middle income" and we are paying more for these gargantuan bills the Feds are stuffing down our throats. Who is going to pay for all of this? Spend more money to make more money? Typical liberal thinking. Try it yourself, you have creditcard debt, auto loans, home loan, whatevaz...you're going to spend more to get yourself out of debt!?! Absolutely ludicrous! The rich get richer because they make adjustments to their own spending, in otherwords, da kine cut da spending yea?! If you haven't noticed, the first stimulus, you count it, all $700+B went where? That's right, no one knows and here we are going to pass yet another one? Case in point, like Pelosi said, "we have to pass it so you can find out what's in it..." You mean to tell me you would give a stranger money and hope they give you something you want and in the end cause you to spend more money? It might not come out of your pocket, but the small business owners are paying for it and yea, it will trickles down to your cut work hours, cut in pay or layoff. Spend more money to make money is gambling and your gambling with your children's children's future. Get a grip of reality!

That's right maverick .. Bush took office with about 5 trillion debt... He left with a little over 10 trillion. That's double. Obama has added about 15 percent more... Largely with the bailout that bush started. These misled republicans have to get their facts straight. Well maverick... At least some of us get it... It dosen't look to good for the country though when people are listening to glen beck and Sarah palin .. Like as if they got the answers... Hilarious.

Maverick Hea... Not so about Obama...it was Bush who left us in da puka and Obama is only trying to pull us out and anyone who knows you gotta spend some money to make money. If you vote for da repub's, you are only helping the rich to get richer and making the middle income folks foot da bill. Don't beleive check da repub's records. They were always for the rich and if you were lucky some of that money might filter down to da poor folks...go figa my friends. Rome wasn't built in a day and you should expect Obama to build it in a year... after all W. Bush had eight long years to empty out your piggy bank!

All of you Obama supporters are mislead. Obama brought change to the Nation, change for the worse. Now Neil vows "change" as well. Come one people, wake up! Do you easily forget that our government is taking over our lives under the Obama-Nation? What does this mean for Hawaii? Neil and Brian will push Obama's tyranny on Hawaii and claim Hawaii supports him. The media does the dirty work for all of those Demo-crack heads. Stick to the Truth and don't believe the lies and deceptions the media feeds you. Look at the never ending deficit that has increased under the Obama Administration. If you know what's best for your children's children stop the bleeding now! Vote Republican!

When are you guys going to wise up and face the truth!?! The US Maritime Admin & our state's EQC and legislature said no need for EIS. HI Supreme Court had NO BIZ legislating from the bench -- they stopped the HSF--NOT LINGLE, NOT our LEGISLATORS! Get your facts straight! The HI Supreme Court had 2 yrs to decide, but no, they waited to the last day, the last hour to make their selfish decision which took just 30 mins in a unanimous vote. Lingle was right, as always!!
