Hawaii students compete in international robotics competition

Hawaii's students won awards in an international robotics competition this weekend.

The mission - to build robots and use them to retrieve simulated organisms from underwater stations.

A Hilo High School student won the MVP Award, Highlands Intermediate School won the Aloha Team Spirit Award and Hilo High School won an award for spending the least amount of money on a robot that performed well.

A team from Russia took first place in the advanced competition, while a team from North Carolina took first place in the intermediate competition.
