After two weeks in service, the state's new freeway service patrol is proving effective.
From stalled vehicles, to fender benders, and out-of-gas calls, the tow wagons are responding to about 50 to 75 drivers per day.
The trucks patrol the H-1 and Moanalua Freeways weekdays.
And now the state is making it easier for motorists to call for help.
There's a dedicated phone number for drivers to call to improve the response time, and free up 911 emergency lines.
The number is 841-HELP.
