Fire that Destroyed Kaneohe House Ruled Accidental

The Honolulu Fire Department fire investigators have completed their investigation of the fire at 45-906 Anoi Road in Kaneohe and have determined that the fire was accidentally caused.

The Fire Investigator reported that the fire began with a refrigerator in the garage although the exact manner in which the fire began is unknown.

The HFD responded to the Anoi Road fire on October 30, 2009 at 6:47 a.m.

The fire destroyed a single-family residence and damaged a second home on the property. An adult male suffered a minor, non-life threatening injury while exiting from the second house. He was treated and released at the scene.

No one was home in the house where the fire began.

The Fire Investigator reported that damage from this fire is estimated at $500,000 to the home where the fire began, and $100,000 to the second home.
