A Honolulu City Council member voiced her concerns this afternoon about a recent hike in property taxes.

About 250 Oahu homeowners saw their property taxes quadruple this year because of zoning changes.

That means some of those who were paying $2,000 in taxes last year are now paying close to $10,000.

Council member Ann Kobayashi says the hike will not only impact homeowners but renters as well.

"Where are these tenants going to live, we're going to have a larger homeless problem because who can afford increased rents," said Kobayashi.

The City administration and the City Council have each come up with their own plans to help affected homeowners.

What would the city of Honolulu do if all the homeless people on Oahu got together and camped out in Waikiki? I don't think there is a jail big enough to hold them. Homeless people FIGHT THE ESTABLISHMENT!!!! UNITE!!!! Fight these money hungry, corrupt, greedy politicians. The way things are going HAWAII will have homes for the rich and beaches for the poor THIRD WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!
