The Traffic Violations Bureau in the Honolulu District Court at 1111 Alakea Street will no longer be open until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. Office hours will be from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with counter service hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, effective December 5, 2011.

"Although having counter service available on Wednesday nights was an added public convenience, particularly for people who work in downtown Honolulu, eliminating the extended hours has become necessary due to budgetary restrictions," said First Circuit Chief Court Administrator Glennard Fong. "We hope our Internet and telephone payment systems and the fact that traffic abstracts and other documents can be obtained at any district court will continue to meet the greater needs of our users, including those who were formerly served during the extended hours."

Persons with questions regarding traffic citations may contact any district court.

First Circuit Chief Court Administrator Glennard Fong. "We hope to be able to still do our jobs".... Start with the motorcycle HPD... The ones writing all the tickets and then zipping by at 80mph without lights or sirens... Call in one of these HPD zippyest and they'll tell you they're on duty... Even when one of them puts their bike down... give me a break, I ride.
