Bellows Beach park reopens Friday at noon.

The park was closed last month over environmental and safety concerns, including illegal dumping and bon fires.

The park is normally open to the public on weekends and holidays through an agreement between the Marine Corps and the city.

The city says new regulations for park users will be strictly enforced.

Complete list of new rules include the prohibition of alcoholic beverages, pets, open fires, vendor sales, camping without an appropriate permit, driving on the beach, parking in no-parking areas and dumping of any kind.

The public will be restricted from entering the beach between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Even campers with a valid permit will not be allowed to enter the area until after 6 a.m. the following morning. The training area will again be closed to the public after 8 a.m. Monday.

The Marines continue to partner with city officials, the U.S. Air Force and local communities to take actions necessary to maintain Bellows Beach as a sustainable place of beauty and safety for weekend public access, and where the environment is protected from misuse at all times.
