Action Line is a consumer referral service created to assist consumers throughout the state in solving a wide variety of problems they have encountered with businesses, service providers, and government agencies. We also use our resources to inform the community at-large of consumer issues.
Dedicated volunteers take calls from the public and provide guidance designed to assist the callers in resolving their complaints.
We are searching for enthusiastic and friendly people to join our Action Line team. We have opportunities for both phone and office volunteers.
Phone volunteers respond to consumers' emails and phone calls in Action Line's headquarters at KHON2. You will provide guidance designed to assist callers in resolving complaints against businesses, service providers, and government agencies. Not only will you be assisting others in the community but each day you will also learn new things that you can use in your personal life.
Office volunteers work closely with the phone volunteers to provide information and materials that will enable them to service callers more effectively. Familiarity with computers is important.
New volunteers are given a brief orientation and training session. On an ongoing basis, fellow volunteers are encouraged to share with each other their expertise on the successful resolution the many different types of problems being encountered. The volunteer shift is once a week (weekdays only) from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
