@ Aikea ...wow, where to begin? 1) I believe the below poster already covered the faulty logic in your accusation of frivolous spending. I guess that's a lesson for you to watch/read a story in its entirety before jumping to conclusions. 2) You obviously have no understanding of business. I applaud this concept as it is a great combination of customer integration, public relations and branding. In terms of employee benefits, it is my opinion that Diamond Bakery workers should be more than satisfied seeing this company succeed, ensuring they will have jobs in 6 months. That's more than I can say about many other businesses today. 3) Last I checked Diamond Bakery doesn't make bread. Oh wait...no dough. Was that a joke? Wow...I sure hope not. In any case, this company has done extremely well in the economic downturn and there is no doubt in my mind they will continue to do well regardless of commodity pricing and economic environment. Their products are staples to many families in Hawaii and I do not see that changing at any point in the future.

Before writing such a heinous comment, you should know your facts before voicing such a direct attack towards a celebratory event. The business has and still is run by tactful and innovative individuals that if you were to follow the Bakery’s history, there would be no question to the company’s success. So, do you think Diamond Bakery would spend so nonchalantly? The company has many supporters who provide generous donations towards a good cause. As a response to your comment, Diamond Bakery will continue to provide treats that have been with our families for generations as well as continue to spread on the mainland US and Japan.

Rather than be extravagant they should save the money for their future to keep in business or share it with their employees in benefits. I can see in the future the closing of Diamond Bakery due to lack of bread. No dough.
