Today's Lokahi family is working hard to put their life back together. Mom and dad were released from prison earlier this year after serving three years.
Their children, a 10 year old son and an 11 year-old daughter, lived with grandparents while mom and dad were incarcerated.
Today, the family is back together, living in their own home, which they say is a miracle in itself.
Mom and dad both completed their probation and are in good standing in the community.
They work fulltime but are struggling financially.
Even though their hardship is stressful, mom and dad say they are truly grateful and happy to be back with their children.
On weekends, the family spends time at the beach "giving back."
Whether it's reading to homeless children, or feeding them a hot meal … this mom and dad are determined to make a difference.
This will be the family's first Christmas together in four years … and mom and dad want it to be special. If you can help, here is their wishlist: all family members could use clothes. Mom is asking for household items and toiletries. The family would also appreciate any new or used furniture.
Please, let's help this family who is working hard to help themselves.
