A big mahalo to everyone who's donated to the Lokahi giving project so far...but more help is needed. Yesterday on the Big Island, an event brought holiday cheer to some Lokahi families. From magic acts ...to all sorts of activities for the kids and a chance to visit with Santa. It was a morning of fun at Queen's Marketplace in Waikoloa. "We just invited all the kids to come down have a great time families have family time," said Waikoloa Land Co. Vice President Debbie Parmley. More families than ever are in need this holiday season. "Across the board the islands are hurting I think we got the most requests from the Big Island," said Lokahi Co-Founder Mariellen Jones. With Christmas less than two weeks away, the Lokahi Giving Project still needs a lot more help. "We still have a couple of hundred families applications that were turned in before the deadline that have not been adopted yet," explained Jones. "It's not too late. adopting just entails providing one new present for each family member and a holiday meal and that can be done in any way you want."
