Lokahi means unity and it takes all of us working together to make sure families are not empty-handed during the holidays.
Fantastic Sams is known for its haircuts, perms and color but now there's another reason to visit the salon.
“Each location is going to be a drop off site where people can donate goods, deodorant, toothpaste, whatever they can to these families, these folks that need help, at any of our locations,” said Chad Nelson of Fantastic Sams Hawaii.
In addition to being a drop off site, Fantastic Sams salons are also adopting families this holiday season and donating hair products and hair cuts to families in need. They understand that when living paycheck to paycheck, something like cutting your hair is considered a luxury.
“It just kind of struck a chord in my heart and I thought it was the right thing to do and just to let people know that we are here to help the local people and to give back to the community,” said Nelson.
There are many ways that you too can help those less fortunate this holiday season.
You can adopt-a-family, volunteer at one of our many events, or conduct your own drive. It's not too late to make a difference in the lives of your neighbors.
