With the holidays right around the corner and many people in need-- it's not just the adults who are thinking of those less fortunate.
A children's soccer team decided to get into the Spirit of Lokahi.
It was a mad dash for toys at Kahala Mall.
Decked out in red soccer shirts 14 boys filled KB toy stores searching for the perfect gift.
"Cool, this is cool i'm gonna get this...how much is it?"
The mission: to purchase toys for kids their age without exceeding $25 dollars.
"You buy three and you get one free right?...but can't you buy four and get one free?"
"Each kid had a $25 dollar limit ten of those dollars had to be earned by doing chores."
"I actually helped my mother sort out some recycling for the community and so I got some of that money back," says Bryce Moore, Honolulu Galaxy player.
"I folded laundry," says Koa Among, Honolulu Galaxy player.
And when time was up what did the boys buy?
"Well I got a car that rolls but when you open it there's a track inside for a smaller car to go in and I got two small hot wheels cars," says Among.
"I picked out this hot wheels car thing where when you press this button the dragon makes fire come out," says Moore.
With this community service project under their belt the team hopes to help other organizations.
"We've adopted a park in east honolulu taking care of and that we've reconditioned we're going to continue to do that we're going to continue to look for other ways to help our community," says Head Coach Paul Shimomoto.
As for helping Lokahi again,
"I think it's really good cause people who don't have anything usually they'll feel real good if they get something," says Among.
