The holidays are supposed to be the most joyous time of year. But for many Hawaii families struggling with financial hardship, it's just the opposite. On this Thanksgiving day, a Big Island family is doing their best to make ends meet. The family lives in a makeshift building on a piggery in Hilo. Money is tight for this family. They were not expecting a Christmas this year. However, with your help, they might be able to have one they'll remember forever. If you'd like to help this family, stop by Waimea Center or Prince Kuhio Plaza next Saturday from 10-4pm. Or at Kona Coast Shopping Center that evening. Our volunteers will be there collecting unwrapped gifts and monetary donations. If you can't make it on that day, you can always drop off your unwrapped gift, check or cash donation at branches of Central Pacific Bank statewide Or, you can drop off items at Starbucks and A-American Self Storage in Kona.
