UPDATE:  The U.S. Marshals Service’s Adam Walsh Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended 20 year-old Hans Poouahi, Jr. at a Hanalei Street home in Waianae Thursday afternoon.

Poouahi Jr. was wanted for a $20,000 cash-only state warrant issued on September 6, 2011 by Judge Steven S. Alm for failing to comply with the terms and condition of HOPE Probation with the underlying charge of Escape in the Second Degree.

Officials say in 2005, Poouahi Jr. was only 13 years-old at the time when he was implicated of child abuse that nearly caused the death of a 10 year-old girl.

In February 2005, court documents revealed the abused victim was found on a couch on the lanai of an “Ainaloa home with a cut on her head that was “decomposing and containing maggots.”

"She also had injuries to her upper lip and other areas of her body that showed signs of decomposition.”

The victim also suffered broken bones, dehydration and malnutrition.

A District Court Affidavit indicated a doctor at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children who treated the girl told police that marks on the girl’s body suggested she had been bound, and that “she had several areas of dead tissue about her body as a result of pressure ulcering and burns that appeared to be from a cigarette and cigarette lighter. The girl spent six weeks in a coma recovering from the inflicted injuries.

Poouahi Jr. was convicted as a juvenile and housed at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility until he turned 19 years-old.

Poouahi Jr. was sentenced to Probation and officials say he has since violated the terms and conditions of HOPE Probation.

Officials say his arrest marks his third revocation this year.

On this edition of Hawaii's Most Wanted we feature a young man who admitted to child abuse and is now wanted on a warrant.

Honolulu police are looking for Hans Poouahi.

"Hans was convicted on the Big Island as a juvenile for abuse," said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.

That was in 2007. Poouahi admitted to abusing a young girl who had been staying with his family in Puna.

She had been found with severe injuries and festering wounds.

Poouahi was sentenced to probation.

"On February 28, 2010 at 10:15 a.m., Hans was given a pass to leave the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility where he was supposed to be incarcerated until 19 years old. He was to return at 2:15 p.m. and failed to return. He did return on his own on March 2, 2010 which was several days later and was arrested for escape," Buffett said.

He's now wanted on a $20,000 warrant in connection with that case and for not complying with the terms of HOPE Probation.

Hans Poouahi is 19-years-old, 5'9", 170 pounds.

"He's known to frequent the Waianae area," Buffett says.

If you know where Hans Poouahi is, call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

And the man we featured last weekend was arrested on Monday in Kalihi.

Stephen Xhun was wanted on an $11,000 warrant in connection with a graffiti case.

It appears the system that was supposed to monitor this child failed. Everyone involved was a victim. Unfortunately this little girl was the weakest link and they used her to take out their frustration with their lives. Can't reverse what happened but can change it from happening again to another child.

Omg, You guys shouldnt jugde him. You all dont know him & his story. You all dont know if that is what really happened or not. Dont ever look down on someone if you do not know the truth. He was young, you all dont know if he was forced to say things that was not true. You all dont know anything. For all you guys know that girl could have did that to herself to look for attention or love that she never got from her OWN family/home. Think about it, That was not their child or their responsibility . Why would her mother even let her stay at anothers home? Dont you think her mother would have seen her? Exactly. I Know Hans and hes a good loving person. He does a lot for his family and loves them with everything hes got. He would put them first before anything and everything. The way the news and others make it sound like hes a bad person, although hes really not. So dont judge if you do not know anything. Like DKoner622 said "Dont judge if you dont know, Only god can judge him." Thats a fact. So please keep all your bad comments to yourself because REMEMBER God will judge you too. I love you hans poouahi, Keep your head up high. See you soon.

Before you judge a book by its cover read it first. Yeah he's made some bad decisions but I know him. He's a good kid. Surroundings are the most influential effects on life, unfortunately he didn't have the nest surroundings. He da boy... Don't judge if you don't know. Only God can judge him, and I'm sure he will be forgiven.

I agree with uncle Pauly, put him down, there's no saving this kid. And yes Uncle Pauly, the three Hawaii's Most Wanted fugutives were all caught in the Maili and Waianae areas. This is why the West Side has and will continue to catch a bad rap! The best thing about that though, is the Haoles won't want that land, and will continue to stay away...

This kid is seriously defective...There's a big difference between making a bad decision when you're 13 (like cutting out from school), it's a whole 'nother thing when you're only 13 and implicated of child abuse that nearly caused the death of a 10 year-old girl. If I had my way, I would put him "down" immediately the same way I would put down a rabid animal. His DNA is haywired and there's really nothing else that can be done..

Who was in charge at the home? She must have been in that condition for days!! What kind of family leaves an irresponsible 13 year old in charge for that long? Was the family ever charged with neglect? Lock them all up.

I hope they thoroughly investigate the household that was harboring this fugitive. This kid is still young enough to turn a new leaf, but he won't be able to do it alone. It doesn't do him any good when there are people/friends/family/relatives, who encourage bad decisions and keep him on the path to a criminal life. Good luck boy, accept and embrace change NOW, or get used to living life in a cell.
