On this edition of Hawaii's Most Wanted, we feature a man we actually featured two years ago.

He was arrested a couple days after our story aired and he's now wanted again.

Honolulu police are looking for Ricky Pavong.

"The first case on August 16, 2005 at 7 a.m., a Toyota was reported stolen from 2570 South Beretania Street. At 9:50 a.m., on Mokulua Drive, a female comes out of the residence, sees a male under the hood of her Honda Civic, attempting to start the vehicle. She approaches him, questions him, and he says he's fixing a friend's car. When she told him that was her car, he jumped into a Toyota and fled," said Sgt. Kim Buffett of CrimeStoppers.

Pavong was caught by police and arrested for driving the stolen Toyota.

He was also arrested for auto theft two more times in 2005.

Pavong is now wanted on three $20,000 warrants in connection with those cases for not complying with the terms of HOPE probation.

He's 33-years old, 5'6" tall and 135 pounds.

"He has 14 prior arrests," Buffett said. "And he's known to frequent the Honolulu and Kapolei areas."

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.

While I agree that catching crooks is not the public's job, we have more eyes and are more likely from a statistical standpoint to see this guy and at the very least report his location. Further, there is absolutely not way for the police to have eyes on every criminal out there, there just isn't enough money in our system keep them staffed. My opinion, Government cannot do everything, it must rely on responsible, law abiding citizens to to stand up and assist (not apprehend) when possible. Our biggest problem here in Hawaii (again, my opinion) is that too many of us rely on the Government to be the answer to our problems.

Next time HPD catches him, keep him in jail until he pays the $60,000 total. Don't make the public go looking for him. That's the legal systems job. HPD catches the guy, tells him you owe us $$$, lets him go, can't catch him, then tells the public look for him. KEEP him in jail. 3-strikes and he's out. Look at how many times HPD comes on TV and asks for the publics help in catching crooks. It's NOT our job. Enough criminals out and endangering the public.
