The Senate Committee on Appropriations will meet in open session at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7 at the State Capitol Building, Room 325, Senate Appropriations Chairman Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) announced today.

The program, entitled “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - Investment in Hawaii,” will allow Chairman Inouye to receive status reports and question government officials and private sector representatives.

The hearing is being held to gauge the progress the state has made spending federal stimulus dollars provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Chairman Inouye wants to ensure that Recovery Act funds are being carefully spent and used appropriately to fund projects, create and retain jobs, and bolster support services.
