With the end of 2011 fast approaching, the leadership of 25th Infantry Division, currently deployed in Iraq, will be able to make it home for the Holidays.

A ceremony to mark the redeployment of the final U.S. division in Iraq will be held Sunday, December 18, 2011.

The 25th Infantry Division's departure from Iraq is in compliance to the 2008 U.S. agreement to withdraw all U.S. troops by the end of 2011.

Senior leaders and key personnel of the 25th Infantry Division will return to Hawaii following a one-year plus deployment to Iraq.

The leadership of the 25ID has spent the last year serving as the command and control element for United States Division - Center.

Since early 2011, the 25ID Headquarters was responsible for leading the advise, train and assist mission throughout central Iraq.  It is the last division headquarters under U.S. forces in Iraq, responsible for overseeing operational-level command and control needed to facilitate the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.
