In a week Hawaii will say aloha and thank you to Supreme Court Justice Ronald Moon, who must resign before his 70th birthday on September 4th.

This afternoon, Moon was honored in a special ceremony when the new judiciary complex in Kapolei was named for him. The building features 12 non-jury courtrooms and one jury courtroom.

"Seriously there are simply no words to adequately describe how i'm feeling today," said Hawaii Chief Justice Ronald Moon. "I think the best I can come up with is overwhelmed, honored, humbled and perhaps a little embarrassed by all the attention and a little more than a tad nervous."

Moon has been chief justice since March of 1993.

Governor Linda Lingle nominated Associate Justice Mark Recktenwald to fill the post.
