Hawaii's jobless rate remains stuck at 6.4 percent

Hawaii's unemployment rate is remaining at 6.4 percent for the sixth straight month.

The state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations announced Monday that there were more than 593,000 employed and 40,250 unemployed in December.

The agency says the preliminary annual average unemployment rate for 2010 is 6.6 percent, compared to 6.8 percent in 2009.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 9.4 percent in December from 9.8 percent in November.
