HONOLULU (AP) - U.S. Rep. Charles Djou has been placed on a list of nine Republican incumbents who are considered endangered by their party.
A National Republican Congressional Committee spokeswoman says its Patriot Program will be used to focus money and resources on Djou and eight colleagues.
Djou won a May special election with 39 percent of the vote to fill Hawaii's 1st Congressional District seat. Democrat Neil Abercrombie resigned the seat in February to run for governor.
Democrats have targeted Djou and several other Republican incumbents whom they consider imperiled.
Djou's likely general election foe is state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa.
