The voting is complete and city officials have just released the results of the special election for city council district 1.
Tom Berg won the race with 18.4 percent of the vote which is 2,308 of registered voters.
Berg is a well known activist on the leeward coast who has worked for several state representatives.
Jason Espero came in second place followed by Mel Kahele.
