The head of the police officers union says an endorsement for the second Congressional House Seat came down to two candidates - Mufi Hannemann or Tulsi Gabbard.

SHOPO President Tenari Maafala says the union ultimately chose Hannemann because of the former mayor's executive experience and his longstanding support of police officers.

In August, Gabbard was endorsed by six local trade unions.

"For selfish reasons I would love for her to stay home and take care of us here and allow Mayor Hannemann to go forward again with his experience and collectively with the support with our law enforcement across the state," said SHOPO President Tenari Maafala.

Hannemann and Gabbard are expected to face off in the Democratic primary. Also running on the Democratic ticket is Esther Kiaaina.

We must not choose politicians based on money - the root of all evil. Instead, we need to support those with good ethics and wisdom who work for the people and not for the financial desires of themselves.

So money payments was the plan for Hanneman. He was abusive to the homeless and even though he is a Mormon, he lacks all religious values and has no compassion for others - none. Anyone would be better than Hanneman.

I think it was, "Hey, I look like You, You look like Me!". Heck, I'm voting for Tulsi. You Go Girl! We don't need Mr. My Way or The Highway now do we?
