It's on the floor of the State Capitol where voters will learn who will next lead Hawaii. With the clock ticking until the big day, the Office of Elections is making sure that announcement goes off without a glitch.
"It's a logic and accuracy test so they mark their ballots run it thru make sure they get the known results back," says Scott Nago, Chief Election Officer.
Saturday was a test run. During Tuesday's General election, every ballot cast will be processed and verified by Official Observers.
"It gives a lot of people an assurance, the Observers an assurance the public an assurance that this system is working for us and it doesn't have to take longer than it should," says Theona Kapoi, Election Observer.
"One of the great things about Hawaii really not seen anywhere else in the US, that I've been involved in, is the official observer system," says Richard Geppert, Election Solutions Group Hart Intercivic.
The Office of Elections has been working hard with boxes of ballot equipment already tested and approved ready to roll out to precincts across the island.
While election preparations go on behind the scenes, the two top candidates for Governor are making the rounds.
"You can see right here, table to table, running into people with our T-shirts on it's just great person to person, says Neil Abercrombie, (D) Candidate for Governor.
Neil Abercrombie pressed the flesh at the Blaisdell's Splendor of China. While Duke Aiona made a sign-waving stop in Mililani.
"Awww this is fantastic. This is what energizes you and it's a momentum building thing," says Duke Aiona, (R) Candidate for Governor. "It's just as you can hear it's fantastic, it's great."
Voters were also busy, lining up at Honolulu Hale to cast their ballot before the early walk-in deadline.
"I've been in Hawaii 37 years this is one of the key elections, yeah you've got Congressional, you've got Governor, we just had an elected Mayor, says Bruce Coppa, voter.
"I would say right now approximately 19,000 have voted absentee at the early walk-in sites," says Ciress Cuevo, Elections Specialist at Honolulu Hale.
Early-walk in voting sites have now closed.
