With Councilman Donovan Dela Cruz filling a state senate seat, there is yet another vacancy on the city council.Dela Cruz begins his job as a state senator immediately and has resigned from the city council.
Dela Cruz had only two months left on his term, so the council will appoint an interim replacement, until councilmember-elect Ernie Martin takes his seat.
Both Dela Cruz and Martin have recommended council district two staff member Reed Matsuura to serve out the remaining two months.
His appointment will be taken up at Monday’s council meeting.
