The 2010 election cycle isn't over just yet.
As of today's deadline,14 people have filed papers to run for the Honolulu City Council district one seat, being vacated by Todd Apo, who is taking a job with the new Disney resort at Ko Olina.
The 14 candidates are:

-- James Manaku
-- Rose Martinez
-- Bob McDermott
-- John Roco
-- Patty Teruya
-- Gary Velleses
-- Victoria Yuen
The district stretches from Ewa Beach to Makua.
The results of the vote by mail special election will be announced on Wednesday December 29.
There will be early walk-in voting at Kapolei Hale and Honolulu Hale between December 13 and 27.
