It appears this is the end of the Honolulu Symphony as we know it.Today the symphony announced it will file for bankruptcy.
Officials say they cannot sustain a 64-piece orchestra and have proposed moving to a smaller core orchestra, putting costs more in line with revenues.
The Honolulu Symphony society says it currently has about $1 million in debt.
Remaining concerts for the season have also been cancelled.
