Vanessa Stewart is a reporter and assignment editor at KHON2 News. Since joining the KHON2 News Team in January 2005 she has helped gather information about the 2006 October earthquake, the islandwide power outage in December 2008, President Obama's Winter Vacation 2009 and most recently the tsunami warning.
Her biggest highlight was when she got to go up in a C-130 with the Hurricane Hunters to fly through the eye of Hurricane Flossie as it headed towards Hilo on the Big Island.

Vanessa's passion for news began in the 3rd grade. She got a taste of being on television at 11 years old as the youngest spokesperson for KFVE, a local television station.
Vanessa is a proud alum of Castle High School.
In 2002, She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism and an emphasis in Electronic Media.
On her days off, she works as a substitute paraprofessional working one on one with autistic children.
Vanessa enjoys surfing, shopping, running, bikram yoga and spending time with her dog Pa'ani.
