Ron Mizutani is the anchor of KHON2 News at 5.
Ron joined the KHON2 News team in 1985 and worked in the sports department under Les Keiter for 11 years before making the move to news. He co-anchored Hawaii's Morning News for four years with Leslie Wilcox. Ron returned to the sports office to serve as Sports Director in 2000, a position he held for several years before reuniting with Leslie to co-anchor Hawaii at Five.
In August of 2007, Ron left KHON2 after a 22-year career to become the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Hawaiian Telcom. After seven months, he realized corporate America was not the right fit and returned to his KHON2 family in March 2008.
Ron enjoys paddling and spending time with his wife Michelle and their three children, Dane, Haven and Tai-John. Ron graduated from Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawaii-Manoa with a degree in Journalism.
