Rob DeMello joined KHON2 as weekend sports anchor in May of 2010 after spending seven years at KITV (ABC) as a producer, reporter, and weekend anchor.
Born and raised in Enchanted Lake, Kailua, O'ahu, Rob graduated from Kailua High School in 2000 before attending Hawaii Pacific University majoring in Visual Communications.
DeMello got "into the business" as a Sophomore in high school, at the age of 16, when he began interning at KGMB (CBS) under the tutelage of current ESPN SportsCenter anchor Neil Everett.
Rob worked at KGMB for four years as a sports intern until February 2003 when he was hired as sports producer at KITV.
He made his television debut in August 2004 on KITV's High School Football Hi-Lite Show, Blitz-4.
Outside of working on Television, Rob also served as Sports Director and morning talk show co-host on Hawaii's Sporting News Radio AM 1500 from 2007-2009.
Rob and his wife Christie have a daughter named Emi born in March of 2009.
