Olena Heu
Olena Heu is co-anchor of KHON2's Wake Up 2day morning show.

Olena was born and raised on the Garden Island of Kauai. She is a graduate of Kapaa High School and earned a BA from Hawaii Pacific University in Communication with a concentration in Speech. While at HPU, Olena was recognized for excellence in academics & student life and was inducted as a President’s Host.

In June 2004 Olena was selected as Miss Hawaii 2004. She went on to represent the state at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. During the competition Olena was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her commitment to community service.

After several years spent working in television and radio Olena decided to venture into the news business. As an intern at a local television news station Olena found her true passion and joy in broadcast journalism. She was hired as a general assignment reporter at KHON2 in August 2007. In October 2009 Olena moved over to Wake Up 2day as morning show co-anchor/reporter.

Olena was nominated for a Mahalo Service Award by the Speech Language Hearing Foundation for her work at KHON2. She also is a volunteer for Special Olympics Hawaii and the Ronald McDonald House.

During her spare time Olena enjoys spending time with her husband Daniel and her cat Hanalei. She is an avid hiker and former competitive swimmer who love’s singing karaoke, practicing pilates and reading fiction novels.
