The solar power industry is evolving constantly and the latest innovation comes from a company based in Georgia.
As you look around the residential neighborhoods in Hawaii, it's easy to see that people are looking to save energy.
A new entry into the solar power market is called Suniva.
"Suniva is manufactured in the United States. It comes out of Georgia Tech technology. The Georgia Tech team of scientists have been working on solar photovoltaic projects since 1985," said Aaron Kirk of Sunetric.
Sunetric will be the exclusive distributor of the Suniva solar photovoltaic panels. Kirk says the advantage to the Suniva brand is it increases the efficiency of those panels for a residence by at least 16 per cent. Sunetric would be monitoring that efficiency.
"Sunetric has engineers on staff and we're always looking for the latest and greatest, always looking for the best products to offer Hawaii residents, and the Suniva panels are salt spray tested, they're made of anodized aluminum framing. They are the perfect panels for the Hawaii market," says Kirk.
Suniva and other photovoltaic producers are urging customers to study the potential for energy savings, and in some cases, net zero on their electric bills. The Suniva panels have been salt-spray tested and are guaranteed for 25 years. In some areas, an abundance of electricity produced in the home can be sent back to the grid, increasing the savings to the customer.
"Efficiency is everything in the photovoltaic market. We offer sun power: we're an elite sun power dealer. Sun power is the best of the best on the market right now and now we're also offering Suniva which is best out of the 60 cell modules and it's the best on the market today."
